Churching Trip to North India 2010 - Delhi Tour

So they have a burden to bring the campus students to India. Went for 10 days, sounds long, but seriously it's too short to have a taste of the life in India. Oh, before I forget, the pictures taken in India are mostly not mine, it's a collection and selection of all the cameras, so credits go to the cameraman/camerawoman who they-know-who-they-are if they're reading this.

We took evening flight on the 13th of Dec 2010, managed to view the sunset from the plane - it's so much better than to view from any mountains and seas.

kinda failed to capture its beauty

We prepared the 1st message of Thanksgiving Conference 2010 for the blending.

After 5 hours of anticipatory flight, finally reached India. Off the plane, collected luggages, waited for the saints who actually had been waiting for us much earlier and had our first ride in India by a cab heading to our hotel. (Yes, I'd not forget to comment smtg on the hotel!)

Delhi tour was our 1st day's itinerary, the 14th Dec. We went to Red Fort, a fort made of red sand, which was a residence of the royal family during the empire of Shah Jahan (one of the greatest emperors in Indian history).  The fort is hugeeeee and reddish, unlike the one we have here, which is a leftover piece and colorless.

The main entrance - the Lahore Gate

The map of Red Fort Complex
A row of souvenir shops along the entrance

The compound inside.

Green gardens in the courtyard with a friendly dog running here and there
Squirrels are everywhere, esp on the tree trunk.
The white thingy is the throne-balcony where the emperor read to the imperial audiences.
Some designs of the pavilions in the complex

It's called Diwan-i-Khas (not that I know, I googled it for the sake of this post :P), completely in marble like Taj Mahal.
A group photo of sisters in the courtyard.

Credits to Cel, This pic is awesome!

Study trip to historical place!

We got into playing mood with scarf.

The 'we' includes all the sisters, not just both of us kay. haha.
Next, we headed to the India Gate, the national monument of India. It's one of the most crowded place during the celebration of the independence day. Something like Dataran Merdeka in M'sia?

Don't really know the history so dunno how to appreciate its meaning, except that the burning fire is called 'the flame of the immortal soldier'.

Engraved on the walls are the names of the soldiers who lost their lives during the British Indian Empire.
Anyway, don't think u'll be able to see the engravings in this 'medium' pic.

Another group photo of sisters.
That's the daytime, then we went to visit the training centre in Gurugaon at night. That wouldn't belong to this post.=)
