Late review of year 2011

I'm late. It's almost mid of Jan 2012. But still I want to wish 'A Sojourner': Happy 1st anniversary! =D
It's quite a 'success' for me personally given the fact that I never write diary, lack of consistency in doing...basically everything, and I don't express myself well. But one thing for sure, I like to write than to talk.

For the review, I'd like to conclude the Learning post for year 2011. haha.
(i) 早睡早起身体好 - I think I'm quite on track in the 3rd quarter of the year. Nonetheless, 江山易改,本性难移啊! It's a total failure in the final quarter of the year. and I can feel that health is deteriorating. *sehr schlecht*

(ii) Schwimmen - Ich kann jetzt schwimmen! ..aber nicht so gut. Quite confident about this. I'm improving on it.

(iii) Kochen - hmm..I have evidence..

Sorry wrong photo I didn't cook any of  that.

Now this is the right photo..
Spaghetti edible only to PLXY + instant mushroom soup
Spiral pasta version
chicken rice!
Now this is the best thing I've ever cooked - chicken rice! It was a sweet cooking coordination with Dr. See. The picture doesn't serve the dish justice. It was really tasty - the taste of the rice + the chicken. The proportion of everything was just nice! *schmekt gut*

Mashed potato - so-so.
Quite satisfied with it. As long as I like it.
(iv) Guitar spielen - I can remember the chords very well and tried to play more hymns but not much progress.

(v) To gain weight - I got a 'D' for the effort and a 'F' for the result. I'm a living skeleton now. (I've always been a living skeleton.)

2011 had been a long year for me, from 4 months of my 4th sem, then 4 months of holidays, to 4 months of 5th sem. If not for the resolution we'd made before the Lord at the beginning of the year, it would have been a year of vanity though it's filled with challenges, happy times, difficult times, deceiving times...
He never forgets our resolution and consecration.
31-12-2010
19-11-2011 - Gospel work in Kemaman.
I'll miss the time we went together in small kancil and the hymn we made.
Now the beginning of 2012 wasn't as what I expected. It started with exams and farewells...can you believe it? =(
Anyway, for a whole new year ~
Phil 2:13 ~ Brothers, I do not account of myself to have laid hold; but one thing I do: Forgetting the things which are behind and stretching forward to the things which are before.

(sorry for the random German words here and there, they just popped out as I'm writing)

Beware of dog

This is the recent me.

There's something I've always wanted to say to all people around me these 2 weeks

for everything.

Anyway, someone suggested that in my case it should be 'beware of cat' instead of dog. So here is it.

...because we love the Lord

2 Tim. 2: 22
~ But flee youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.~

Like other church kids who were born and raised up in the Lord's recovery, we're too familiar with this verse. We can memorize it at our fingertips, we hear messages from the brothers concerning it, we even declared it boldly in the meetings and training. But only recently does it shine.

As a "doing" christian, there're a lot of do's and dont's in my list. I do this because other saints do it as well; I don't do that because we're told not to, because it's not beneficial for us, because the serving ones advice us not to do so, because it's not good, because it brings trouble to us.......bla bla bla. I have 1001 reasons accumulated in my being for not doing certain things.

In the campus blending and perfecting, it was pointed out that the sole reason why you do or you don't do certain things is because you love the Lord.
What is it to love God? It is to pour out your whole heart on Him. It's altogether a matter of our heart.
In this situation, a question just pop out again and again in me: What do you want?
Well, I don't know...I don't feel like I want to seek something other than the Lord....and that's just because of the 1001 reasons mentioned above.

But now I know....my answer is: I want to pursue the Lord with those who call on the Lord
out of a pure heart!

Everything becomes clear. I don't do it because I love the Lord and I want to love my Lord.

迟来的觉悟

身为一个基督徒,作为召会的一部分,基督身体上的一个肢体,活着若不为福音,生活有什么意义?

You become what you love

Visited xiao mai few months ago. I was playing with him and that lazy fat cat showed little interest. He could just fall asleep while playing with me. (grrrr..) Anyway, can you imagine how a sleepy annoying cat looks like?
something like this....
I was watching him falling asleep and guess what? I saw myself! I mean by looking at how a bored cat falls asleep, I realised that  I am just like a cat - lazy, easily get bored, and always feel sleepy especially when it comes to reading. It seems my character is much influenced by what I like, things I contacted. Usually I feel proud being liken to a cat, but not in this aspect. Cat is lazy - undisputed fact.
Being a cat lover is just one superficial example of you become what you love. We love so many things other than Christ, and were being fashioned according to them whether we realised or not. No wonder there's a stanza in hymn 477 writes:

人哪!你爱何物,
你就变成该物:
成神,你若爱神;
成尘,你若爱尘;
你出,神就进入;
你死,神就生苏;
无你,就有基督;
无物,就得万物。

Longest holiday flies away

Now what have I done?
1. Campus training - The practical expression of the Body is the local churches. Today we're living the church life in the local churches for the building up of, not the local church, but the universal church, the Body of Christ. - One point I treasure the most in the training.

2. Family time - (needless to elaborate.)

3. Part-time teaching kids tuition - wonderful experience....errm...did I just say 'wonderful'? Yea, at some point, enjoyed teaching them, talking to them, listening to them, knowing the different characters of children. But still I would never agree with kids having tuition at this young age...they deserve a more carefree childhood.

4. 'Assignment' from Mr. James - was given a task to read a book entitled 'Plain Words'. It's something about the use of simple yet accurate english in formal written english. So it should be readable, plain, and easily understood, rite, rite, rite? Yeeettt I had to spend almost half an hour to read ONE PAGE of it. longer than a life-study msg. =.=

5. Back to childhood - ride bicycle in the evening, get to know all cats and dogs around my residential area, play with puppies, search for kittens, go for an adventure looking for the puppies' dad, meet new friends of same interest!

I met a new friend who rides bicycle and plays puppies together with me.
Friend: I come here every evening to see them. how bout u?
Me: If I'm free in the evening I'll come over.
Both: *talk bout puppies*
Me: How old r u?
Friend: I'm 12. std 6. How bout u?
Me: erm..what do u think?
Friend: I dunno. Mayb form one? 13?
Me: LOLOL.....me no more 'form' anymore.
Friend: *shocked*
Me: after form 5...after form 6...well, I'm in uni.
Friend: *shocked* u manage to enter uni? Is it hard?
Me: Eh? No lar, u study study then without realising u enter uni.
*Gotta bid goodbye*
Friend: R u coming again tomorrow?
Aww...such a sweet friend, doesn't mind befriended an old aunt. =D
Anyway, I have to invite her for children meeting...that's the best I can give her.

6. Meet with old friends - too much feeling....we've all grown up, grown old....

7. Korean dramas
8. Hyun bin
9. Shopping

7. Blend with the youths - I've always felt burden for the youths in my hometown. Join the youth meeting, fetch them, accompany them to stay at the meeting hall - that's all I can do besides the most important thing - pray for them.

8. Blending trip to Sabah = Praise the Lord!
The church in Tambunan
9. Help out in book room during daytime and go for propagation during night time = exhausted! yet joyful.

Well, the holiday is still young -  I have two more weeks!! =)

709 rally

Not a political post. Not really keen to follow the political situation in M'sia. It's just that after watching news, pictures and clips from the internet, I'm amazed by the talented Malaysian netizens of their photographing skills, editing skills, and creativity. haha. So here are some 'best(s)' in my list.

Best report by the chinese newspapers - Sin Chew Jit Poh
Best blogsite for 709 rally articles - http://blog.limkitsiang.com/

Most dramatic video clip

Best original video recorded

and....Best edited video clip of the day.

Best photo of the day - all other photos taken by this same photographer are awesome.

Sin Chew's editor has great taste, hehe.. this was the pic chosen for the front page.

Legal wise, u can't fault the yellow team for the rally, (The lady is an ex-president of Bar Council ok...) backed by the Bar Council and the United Nations.
UN says Bersih clampdown undermines democracy
An article by Tommy Thomas Malaysia: A police state

Come to think of that, it's quite true there're a 'silent majority'. We're more exposed to information through cyberspace, but how about the many citizens who still rely on government-owned mainstream media for information?

If... - Ambition

If I had not told myself that I hate biology,
If I had done some effort in studying biology,
If biology had not been my worst science subject,
If I had not been so lousy that I couldn't even operate on a frog,
I would have wanted to study veterinary.

If the Malaysian education system had been better,
If my school had offered geography for f4 and f5,
If people around me had not discouraged me to take the subject,
If I had been brave enough to choose geography during f6 and study on my own,
I would have been a geologist.

If I had not been so determined not to study science (which I dunno why),
If I had not been so 'kiasu' to pursue on my favorite subject - physics,
If I had been stronger in mentality and higher in EQ,
If I had been willing to work hard on that seemingly difficult subject,
I would have studied a physics-related course.

If I had not heard or seen the negative aspects of becoming a teacher,
If I had not deleted completely the option 'teacher' from my mind and in my heart,
If I had tried in the related field earlier,
If I had involved myself with kids much earlier,
I would have wanted to become a teacher.

Ok, I'm doing exercise for conditional tenses with 'If' as an indication for conditional clauses.
The Past Perfect tense is used in conditional clauses to refer to things of the past which did not happen. The other clauses are in the Perfect Conditional tense. (should have/would have + past participle)

Above are the 'If(s)' of my ambitions. They did not happen.
So my ambition when asked to fill in the ambition form during secondary school was...and...still is...
to open a pet shop or pet grooming shop. XD

I dun think I have time to touch let alone to revise on Spanish until the day before the Spanish exam. >.< I'm dead.

The incredible of India

half way to Agra - we had delicious poori as breakfast here

One thing I treasure is how the saints there preach the gospel as a living and not as a kind of work. The gospel meeting in PJ is coming very soon on this Saturday, that will sum up our gospel preaching and shepherding work in the campus for this sem. Closing to the end of the sem, everyone is busy with different tasks, but the separated time for fellowship and corporate prayer for the campus is what kept us, or at least me, reminded of our role and purpose of being here. =)

Stand firm in truth

On a breezy evening I was home alone. 'Ding Dong...' Excited me rushed to the door to welcome any sis coming back or unexpected guests from other sis houses...(I needa stop this primary-school-essay-writing style)...

Three persons came to do survey. The survey form listed a few questions in relation to Bible and a frightening question bout god the mother. Only realise who they are when I saw that question coz I've heard from sis OL before. Tried to excuse myself after that but they insisted to let me see a vid. (Was really scared the poison will be injected into me). Anyway, it was a jaw-dropping vid on how they come into conclusion that there's god the mother. O_o
Then one of them tried to point out the bible verses especially Gen 1:26, Rev 22:17, Heb 9:28, and Gal 4 to say that there're 2 gods, Triune God is only one God and there's another god the mother. The Spirit and the bride are 2 entities and that the bride cannot be the church because we're all sinners, according to them. Most shocking is that how the Lord's first coming born in a believer's house and the second coming in unbeliever's house...bla bla bla....getting more and more heretic... On one hand I kept calling on the Lord's name deep within me and on the other hand realise how much I need to be equipped and firm in truth.

I did not react at the beginning, ie no nodding or kept silent when one of them asked me to read the bible verse to 'prove' god the mother, that they thought I couldn't understand and wanted to explain more and I tried to stop them by throwing out:" I cannot accept this." Failing to convince bout that they went on to other things....which totally contradict with the truth, especially the book of Eph.

Believing in 2 gods is definitely a heresy, yet they are so sure that they believe in Jesus and their misinterpretation of verses. Talking bout zealous, they're foreigners coming to this hot and humid country for their religion's sake claiming themselves to be christians.......sadly what is said is not gospel........

A blog without post...

This blog was initially created not be a blog , i.e. no post. I was merely curious bout the design of the layout of blogs so decided to create one and play with the designs...oh well, obviously got bored then and abandoned it...
Very irresponsible. So I thought I should utilize it, saving something which I'll feel encouraging and sweet when I read/look back someday.

Since it's the last day of 2010, what did we do in sister's house in last day of 2009 and beginning of 2010?

31/12/09, the sisters went to take 2009 photos in campus.
Only realised that we went to UM when I found this pic
On the 1/1/10, played board games at home + korean lunch with sisters from other sisters' house. (pics not here=( . )

The next day was a guitar learning day. MJ and I were learning the 2009 winter training banner songs with MJ playing the guitar. In the end, all the sisters joined and YR got each of us a guitar. We started to learn to play guitar with the last  banner song of 2009 winter training.

Yep, that's the first hymn I learn to play with guitar - Romans 16:25 & 27
"To the only wise God through Jesus Christ, to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen."
